Before the show begins
*gloat*
Installing SuSE Linux 8.2. SuSE kindly provided the two beautiful
LCDs and the two computers.
The Gnome presence was inspiring. (Ok, ok, this was before the show started...)
The computers were rentals, look what mouse the computer on the left ended up with.
Linda and Steven Boothe. Steven helped out with the booth.
The person sitting is Jason Buberel who also assisted us in the booth. Crouched over the table is Roland Krause, who must be very shy. Jason Katz-Brown is wearing the yellow hat.
Here we have KBackgammon running in the Gnome booth. Their red eyes indicate the evil. This picture obviously was inspiration for a later event...
Here we have Roland Krause violently stealing Charles's computer and having his way with it and KDevelop.
+5 Troll
Jason Buberel again, clearly very depressed.
"Finally something they're good at." Jelly Beans at the Microsoft booth. Jelly beans are soft and small, consider that!
Either someone made a very convincing XP theme or that's not actually "powered by redhat." Interesting indeed.
This person couldn't make it, so the badge wasn't used. However, Kurt Granroth came after-all, in paper form. Yes, this marketing material is two years out of date.
What next? Windows at the Apple booth?
Jelly-Belly brand jelly beans. Made with pectin, not gelatin.
Charles Samuels, David Johnson, Jason Katz-Brown
Jason played Kolf the entire time. I am not exaggerating when I say "entire time".
Sometimes I'd see multiple Kolfs running on one machine. Jason needs serious help.
Paul Campbell showed up for a short amount of time.
The IRS? With Mousepads? (the Internal Revenue Service is the US government department in charge of collecting taxes)
ILOG asked for assistance in configuring KDE to automatically switch virtual desktops periodically. It was as easy as the following Bourne-Shell: `while [[ true ]]; do dcop kwin KWinInterface nextDesktop ; sleep 3; done`
Here we have a Gnome looking at a KDE pamphlet. She could best described as "revolted" -- but it might be amazement.
The International Gnome-KDE backgammon game proceeds. KDE has a secret weapon: practice with KBackgammon!
Three Fonzies.
This time there's just one Fonzie.
This is the face of Evil.
Charles continues to prematurely move the camera after pressing the button.
